Join Young Friends of the Preservation Alliance and the PennPreserve Alumni and Friends Network for a tour of the Girard Corn Exchange, Chris Aker (Owner/Linode), Fon Wang (Ballinger Architects), John Carr (Materials Conservation Collaborative), and Patrick Snoke (C. Erickson and Sons). The building was constructed in 1902 as the Union Bank of Philadelphia and later renamed the Girard Corn Exchange National Bank and Trust Company. Located next to the Betsy Ross House, the building is listed in the Philadelphia and National Registers of Historic Places. It features colossal engaged limestone columns and a granite stoop with wood, bronze and glass sliding pocket doors. This is your last chance to tour the building before it is renovated to serve as the headquarters of cloud hosting company Linode.
*Please note that hard hats and closed-toe shoes will be required. A limited number of hard hats will be available on site, but please bring your own if you have one. Tour attendees will be required to sign a waiver.*
