ABOUT ABOUT

Join the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia and the Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation for a special tour of the Lansdowne Theater! The tour will meet under the theater marquee and then explore the building's pre-restored 1927 interior. You will traverse the lobby, theater, and stage and have the rare opportunity to visit the projection booth. Discuss Wm. H. Lee, the building's architect, and Harry Brodsky, who designed the building's beautiful Moorish interior. Hear stories about the theater's history, changes in the film exhibition business, and see how the projectors work. You will also learn how the Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation is maintaining the architectural integrity of the building while adaptively reusing the space. A Q&A period will conclude the tour. Join tour goers for an optional lunch at The Avenue Delicatessen after the tour (27 N Lansdowne Ave.) (lunch not included in cost of admission). Off-street parking is available across the street from the theater.

The tour begins at 10 am and is limited to 30 people. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance; no walk-up guests will be accomodated. The tour will last about 1.5 hours. Meet in front of the theater under the marquee.

Children 10 and under are free and do not require a ticket.
