ABOUT ABOUT

Designed by architect John MacArthur, Jr., the Wagner Free Institute of Science was built in 1859 and features a tiered, open three-story exhibit hall with a lofty barrel ceiling supported by exposed tied arch timber roof trusses. The National Historic Landmark museum and its natural history collection remain nearly unchanged since the 19th Century.

Join the Young Friends of the Preservation Alliance as we explore the Wagner Institute, "A rare surviving example of a Victorian era scientific society."

Susan Glassman, Executive Director of the Wagner will direct the tour and provide a brief introduction in the auditorium space, an area not regularly accessible to museum visitors.
